More preview of the Xperia Play:

What you will be getting with the Sony Ericsson XPERIA Play is a large 4" LCD screen of FWVGA resolution (854 x 480 pixels). Under the hood, there's a 1GHz Qualcomm CPU with the Adreno 205 GPU and 512 MB of RAM. A microSD card slot makes sure you will always have enough free space for those games and the 3.5mm audio jack lets you enjoy them without irritating those around you.

The 5 megapixel snapper at the back is fully capable of recording 720p videos. There's also a microUSB port and a noise-cancelation second microphone available on the device. The ample 1500 mAh battery should be able to keep the Android 2.3 Gingerbread-runing XPERIA Play going for a while.

cuz i would be good if it had a decent internal system and user data storage capacity. that way there;d be less dependence on apps2SD

Well, it's coming with 5 games on board and I there will be a special market place with games that cost sub $10. But not entirely sure how expansive it will be.

if they get some good fighting games then thats good - but the concept of running killer instincts on the phone with full control capabilities is all i need

@ pezz - the way i see it, if the nexus can use that 512MB and get 46.7 FPS on 3D games then i expect no less than the Xperia Play.. NO LESS!!!

See this screen shot for an idea of what the Xperia Play will bring...and I suppose this is an early build...

On another note my only gripe with these two devices would be SE's choice of material. I do not like overly glossy exteriors. I wish they had gone for Matte plastic instead if plastic must be used for weight/cost reasons. I enjoyed the matte on the Aria and the X10 (back panel anyway).

yeah it gives the phone a nice touch - and also paint doesnt strip at all.. i remember the earlier benchmark leaving the xperia play with only 32 FPS so i guess if that is accurate then that is a drastic improvement
