Google Acquires Bumptop multitouch desktop

In an effort to continue expanding their technology portfolio, it’s been confirmed Google they snatched up the startup that created the 3D desktop interface, BumpTop. Last year, BumpTop got the multitouch treatment to support some crazy UI manipulation of your files and how you navigate through them. If you haven’t already, go download BumpTop for free on your Mac or PC because they’re taking it down after May 7th. Hopefully we see some of these technologies make their way into Google tablets sooner rather than later. Apparently the future is multitouch and that’s a good thing.
