Anyone done the aptitude test recently ? Is it hard like...

A rope burns non-uniformly for exactly one hour. How do you measure 45 minutes, given two such ropes?

Or has it gotten simpler over the years?

First start burning rope 1 at both ends, and rope 2 at one end only. When rope 1 finishes burning (which will take 30 minutes), light the other end of rope 2. 45 minutes is up when rope 2 finishes burning.

I dont understand you, hombre. When rope 1 finish burn, it should actually be an hour later. (A rope burns non-uniformly for exactly one hour). So your answer immediately seems wrong.

Assuming I could cut a rope in half (lol). Burn the first half of rope 1 completely (30 minutes), then burn the second half of rope 1 half way (15 minutes). Use rope two tie up mi donkey.
