Still the king after all these years.
The PS2 is outselling the PS3 and the PSP for the first quarter of 2009 announced Sony in their latest financial report.
Incredibly, a price-cut to the PS2 to $100 has kept the system selling in it’s 9th year on the marketplace. Sales of the system grew from 1.5 million last year to 1.6 million this quarter. Which is a slight increase and not a whole lot, but enough to keep it above the 1.1 million sales of the PlayStation 3. It’s also higher than the 1.3 million in sales of the PSP, which had a huge decline year-over-year from 3.7 million last year.

It’ll be interesting to see if Sony will lower the price of the PS3, something that analysts have been calling for them to do for quite a while now. But so far Sony has remained iron-fisted on keeping the price as is.
So who just bought one?
