I've had this problem like half a year i'm just co-oping with cw until lime reaches my area. Sometimes i download at 1 kilobyte per sec lol @ 8kbps connection wtf? Lime should pack up and leave or just let some other big European/American company take over.

Here's the scoop. Your connection speed is a 2 MegaBit connection. Not MegaByte. And as such, here it is - your speeds in MegaBit will be equal to these in KiloBytes:

    1Mb - 128KB
    2Mb - 256KB
    3Mb - 384KB
    4Mb - 512KB - ½ MegaByte per second download
    5Mb - 640KB
    6Mb - 768KB
    7Mb - 896KB
    8Mb - 1024KB - 1 MegaByte per second download
    9Mb - 1152KB
    10Mb - 1280KB
    11Mb - 1408KB
    12Mb - 1536KB
    13Mb - 1664KB
    14Mb - 1792KB
    15Mb - 1920KB - Almost 2 MegaByte per second

And as such those are your speeds. For the unfortunate persons who have not been upgraded by LIME (CWJ) as yet, and still have connections ranging from 128-512:

    128Kb - 16KB
    256Kb - 32KB
    512Kb - 64KB

Now according to both CWJ and the new sour company, they guarantee you 80% of your connection speed each time. Let's focus on the existing packages and the new packages, which range from 128Kb to 4Mb, and they say that their current packages are 1, 2, 4 (no 3Mb package):

    128Kb - 16KB - 80% = 12.8KB
    256Kb - 32KB - 80% = 25.6KB
    512Kb - 64KB - 80% = 51.2KB
    1Mb - 128KB - 80% = 102.4KB
    2Mb - 256KB - 80% = 204.8KB
    4Mb - 512KB - 80% = 409.6KB

Meaning your connections would look more like this:

    [128K]102.4Kb - 12.8KB
    [256K]204.8Kb - 25.6KB
    [512K]409.6Kb - 51.2KB
    [1Mb]819.2Kb - 102.4KB
    [2Mb]1.6Mb - 204.8KB
    [4Mb]3.2Mb - 409.6KB

And bear in mind that though these are your 80% values, the download speeds are going to vary based on the server (not CWJ/LIME fault) or the load on the network (CWJ/LIME fault for not providing adequate threshold). As such, you can use this to measure what your speeds are.

As well, you can see if you're on a 1Mb connection and you get downloads ranging from 99KB to 103KB and call complaining you not getting 128KB they say that nothing is wrong on their end. It's how they are. They say 80% - but they don't tell you that up front. You complain about the service and they say that they're within the tolerance range. Not mine. That 20% more would do me well when I have things to download and upload.

As for you on your 2Mb connection, your 80% is 204.8KB. Your 100% would be 256KB. If you go even as low as 100 they going tell you to settle for it because of network load and it within the tolerance range - as other factors could contribute to your ping. Then them going start ask about the things in your house, where you live, etc. Hush yute. Switch to FLOW. Do the SPEED TEST and that alone will convince you, it certainly did me.
Knowing the solution doesn't mean knowing the method. Yet answering correctly and regurgitation are considered "learning" and "knowledge".
