That's a decent laptop except for video card. Which can be changed I think. Might not need a desktop. Just a monitor.

CPU is 83% of a Intel Core i5-4690. Not bad. http://www.futuremark.com/hardware/c...ocessor/review

It is fast I must say. The GPU is baked onto the main board so no chance of upgrading for that. The sound on this thing is awesome also. The Crew I must say is not loving it so far although I'm running it at it's default setting. I will tweak the graphics settings to see if I can get even 25fps.
I'm however getting smooth game-play in GTA V which surprises me.
I'm bonding with this notebook and love the experience so far.

as in, which planet u need a nas with an i5 processor lol id just like to know what he's doing with it. For example if he were transcoding video via Plex or something else to many users then i could get it but if its just for simple file access i think its waay over kill

I use it for Plex , File server and PC-NVR to manage some of my POE cameras. I don`t trust an Atom or ARM CPU for any of those task. I also have a 10G SFP+ peer to peer connection between Nas and my PC. Overkill yes but the 10G SFP+ setup was like $40 .

Initially I wanted to re use my existing core i5 2500k but I had to switch because I couldn`t find a Mini ITX mobo with 6 Sata ports
