This is the problem I always had with Cisco Certs, for some reason most IT managers think that if they only see CCNA, your skills will only apply to Cisco routers. To a certain extent the perception is true. MCSE or even MCSA would make you more rounded in the IT field. OS and hardware.

Question has been asked several times with several different answers, in the long term yes Associates degree and up in Computer Studies would be very nice to have, short term certs are faster to get (less then a year). One bit of advice i would give you is not to skimp on your training don't use brain dumps just to get the cert quick...they will only hurt u in the end.
Post your current resume in the careers section, so we can see exactly how you showing your self to these companies...sometimes it could just be a resume or cover letter tweak thats needed
