    Default Hewlett Packard rolls out Linux laptop

    Hewlett-Packard has announced plans for what it says is the world's first notebook computer from a major manufacturer using the open-source Linux operating system.

    The company made the announcement Tuesday at the LinuxWorld conference in San Francisco. Pricing will begin at 1,140 dollars.

    The move opens a door to the rival of the dominant Microsoft Windows operating system, used on the overwhelming majority of personal computers.

    First Dell then Hewlett-Packard. hmm... Seems linux is finally getting some kind of recognition from the Major home pc suppliers

    Imagine the projected useage growth of linux in another couple years
