MCSA is not only about networking...As I explained in a previous post...you need to know which direction you are taking your own career.

It wont be about a money thing for you to pick one over the other. Furthermore, if you have no desire to work with routers/switches...doing the CCNA certification will just waste your time and effort.

You only mention the cost for the courses. However I do know that CCNA at Heart/NTA will take almost 10 months before completion. What this mean is that you will have to factor the other hidden cost and time. Since you are currently working with routers and your future plans is within this field...it would only be logical to continue on this path...

MCSA is not just networking...first of all there are different paths within Microsoft exams. Specifically security and Messaging (MS exchange). You can get your MCSA/MCSE without specializing in either of these fields but it’s beneficial to do so.

One thing I would agree on though is that you need to know what field you want to get into. CCNA is mainly if not only hardware specific. While this is a pretty good field to go into, personally I'm going for MCSE security.

With MCSE\MCSA its a lot easier to learn on your own. With CCNA you need a lot of hands on experience, I think the reason MCSE/MCSA cost so much is because of the amount of material to cover and the amount of exams...or these schools just want to rob u

The big difference between Stony Hill Heart/NTA and other places (including some overseas) is that they are a cerified Cisco Academy.

I updated my comments....let out the "not" sorry for that confusion..however that was a typo...as stated I was making reference to a previous post..which outlined the purpose of both certification...

Anyway...Doing any cerification...you must ensure that you have the hands on experience...not only CCNA..as a matter of fact...Microsoft is changing all exams to match with real world environment...hence a candidate must show the ability to configure the system within a simulated platform...

There are newer exams that require much more experience ( and board review) from Microsoft.

The reason why it's so short in the states is because they cram you with info. Out here you are taught and the instructors make sure that you understand.

The 10 months is really what is takes part time students. That's 10-12 hours per week.

That kinda practice i will never like...expecillay from schools...if you want to cram do it on your own for free dont go to a school for that. Right now they have a guy where i working that claim hes CCNA but he seems like a crammer to me.
