    Default Please explain this error.....

    Ok.. here's wat happened...
I\m there using my machine and i suddenly see a windows xp warning symbol and popup appear in the system tray, it says "It appears D:\Music is corrupted and unreadable... (forgot the sentence that was here, something bout running scandisk) "...
so i opened explorer only to see that D: is missing....
o i said ok.... closed explorer, opened disk management, and the drive was there, only there was a red exclamation icon over the drive, and on top of that the drive (a 20 gb) was showing unallocated 128.00 gb in the status...

Its back to normal now, restarted and it cleared up... but for the life of me i cannot figure out what would casue this error, and out of the entire drive it would select that one folder to find an issue with instead of the entire drive.

    Any ideas?

I Think Is Just A Driver Conflict, But Then Again It Could Me More Than That, It Could Be A Hardware Problem Meaning Hard Drive Going Bad

hehe. thought about all that... i dont think its a driver conflict, mainly because it specifically found one folder "unreadable", forgot to say i was listening t my music while posting.
I doubt and hope teh drive isnt going bad, tried smart on it and all came back ok... just have a disk check to do to make sure.

SMART not going to tell you much.
Get a hold of GRC Spinrite and run checks.

That problem sound like corrupt hard disk surface or something.
Run chkdsk c: /r OR GRC Spinrite.

@zro.... ran chkdsk, no bad secotrs, nothing... <scrathces head>
@Blaze... most of my data i have in other places, so i'm not losing anything i cant replace if this drive fails... just kinda annoying to replace the data over and over...
