How you know if it's the revision mobo? What distinguishing features are there? I'm not sure what edition I have...but I know the fan is loud. By the way, the chipset fan's inability to last long is limited to Asus. Gigabye and DFI boards have the same problem.

cons: onboard USB 2.0 controllers do not function properly and cannot be fixed with a bios upgrade. Same problem like Electrotechnic's noisy chipset fan. Only 2 SATA controllers
Pros: Love the onboard 54g wireless card and gigabit lan combo, good sound card.
Workaround replace the chipset fan with a heatsink, install pci usb 2.0 cards with headers.
I must be lucky because all my USB controlers are working.

My board looks exactly like this with the exact chipset fan. How does yours look?

One more Con with the Asus SLi Deluxe:

This is not so much Asus's fault but they are a lot of incompatability issues with the nVidia nForce4 SLI chipset. From memory to SATA II hard drives. Really troublesome to a newcomer building a system. I suggest you read up on how to get patches and firware support. Most cheaper memories don't work with the nF4 chipset. Corsair, Gksill, OCZ, Infineon, PNY and Kingston work like a charm...but be weary of those A-datas and generic no names. Western Digital SataII drives and Maxtor normally don't work either. Seagates and Hitachis are your best bet!

No man. Is like a hit or miss thing but alot people complain about incompatability issues with nForce4, trust me.

By the way, what temps you getting for your opty? Idle and Load because I may just have to go get one of those Zalman HSF if anything but I don't want to waste money cos other projects in the making

My box has the AMD X2 logo thats one reason, the other is my chipset fan is bigger and looks different and also the bois date is December 05. You were the one that said u bought the mobo for $100, well i bought mine for $170 on newegg. Here is a pic of my chipset fan.

The chipset is cool now. Running at 36C. Premium and A8N32 uses the "fanless" design and alot of other boards incorporate it. Remember, there were "fanless" designs before there were designs with fans. I guess someone went back to the drawing board

Can others please post pros and cons about their PC parts?
