    Ah - gotcha. My recommendation is to go solar if possible though. Still use the small UPSes for switching between solar and JPS. Until you can afford to be fully off-grid.

    How would you go about implementing this kind of setup? I'm thinking about starting a separate "home solar" thread to see what's available locally.

    I'm no expert. But once you open that thread I'll post what I think is needed for a basic setup.
