had a little trouble identifying which network a phone number was on - most sites are charging to access this info, but found this useful free site below. It is a little slow but it works (will require to get a little captcha correct) but that's it

Works from checking. However it may give wrong info based on porting.
Knowing the solution doesn't mean knowing the method. Yet answering correctly and regurgitation are considered "learning" and "knowledge".

Does Tech Jamaica still offer this service?
Years ago, when Tech Jamaica offered the convenience of sending free SMS to local mobile numbers from the site, there was the option to verify the carrier for local numbers too (prior to number portability).

Unfortunately we removed both services. The lookup was removed due to the challenges with number porting. In the good old days when numbers were assigned to carriers with certain ranges it was feasible to do a lookup. The free SMS was removed primarily due to abuse as persons were not only using it to spam people but also the increasing reports of questionable conduct. Wasn't worth it at the end of the day to be going through the pain for a free service.Originally Posted by NOKIA 3650
