You need to add a chat app to the site - or have a thread just for random chats. Which is what this is probably going to turn into. But a live chat would do better. IRC or Blab?

This question was raised about 12 years ago.

It was shown that doing so at the time would not be helpful to the site.

I’d have to search for that discussion.

However; Perhaps revisiting the issue would be in order,

Or the other things they have. I paid for it and have it integrated on my site. I'm not advertising much or anything, but it's primary use for me is direct chat with persons with no IM app that I use.
