I am making my prediction from now... Blackberry will be bought up a Chinese company, most likely Huawei, Lenovo or Alcatel. The company will be bought for its large patent portfolio to give this company a stronger foothold against patent litigation from Samsung or Apple. Also, it will be sold for less than the $7.5 billion Samsung offered in 2015.

Bravo sir well thought out lucid argument, makes a lot of sense. Unfortunately I dont see that happening. Love the thought process though.

I think BB will bounce back with their new strategy.

Chinese companies already own half the real estate, and are slowly buying up the remainder, in every major Canadian city and no one knows to what end. Maybe this would be apart of their grand strategy.

BlackBerry has over 40,000 patents, trust mi allot of companies are paying BlackBerry big bucks.. up the recently Canon went into patent licensing agreements with BlackBerry for power charging technologies they will be using in their products..

The reality, Josh Gordon wrote last month, is that an enormous amount of Chinese capital is flooding in to buy Vancouver homes. The National Bank of Canada estimates Chinese buyers spent $12.7 billion in Vancouver alone in 2015 -- that's about one-third of all sales!

Chinese buyers are now the largest foreign investors in Canadian commercial real estate, having spent $1.3 billion in the first half of this year, according to global real estate firm CBRE Ltd.

The figure is skewed by a single big sale, the purchase of the Bentall Centre in Vancouver by the Anbang Group, the same Chinese company that bought the Waldorf Astoria in New York City in 2014.

Canada, particularly the cities of Vancouver and Toronto, has long been among the top targets for property investors from the Asian country.

I knew about Chinese and Vancouver. As far as I know that is where they spend their money.

But you said Canada so I was confused. Canada is bigger than USA and Vancouver is a tiny spec in Canada.
