    Default Android Studio

    Anyone here using Android Studio?

    I always used eclipse for android dev, but decided to switch the Android Studio for the fancy look and stuff.

    What a resource hog.... But I will continue using it for now and see.

    Are you using the new version? I used to mess with the first release back in the day and I didn't notice anything exceptional in the resource usage department. I deleted it about 2 months ago when I was upgrading to Win 10.
    1.8 Ghz Pentium 4 (OC'd.) / Intel P4 (478) Motherboard / 800MHz DDR / 256 Mb DDR RAM / 40GB Seagate / RIVA TNT2 Pro 32MB / 24X12X24 Sony CDRW+ / 18" View Sonic CRT / Windows ME Yes it will play Doom... i plan on trying Crysis 3 one of these days.

    Other than resource intensive the user experience is good.

    I like that it presents my GUI for my apps to me without me running the app on an emulator.

    May need to upgrade my pc from 8GB ram to 16GB ram though.

    I miss the days when companies would make custom IDEs and stuff for thier own hardware. This generic eclipse stuff is bloated and annoying. too much crap and api levels, bugs, wild documentation and setup issues.

    Android Studio is custom.

    But I don't find Eclipse to be bloated. You just add what you need.

    Visual Studio is bloated.

    I don't remember for eclipse. For Android Studio it is about 10 seconds
