Ceylon (Java successor) 1.0 launched
About 2 and a half years ago I wrote a blog post about Ceylon, Red Hat's new project to develop a better enterprise friendly programming language. The team has now finally released Ceylon 1.0.
I don't have time to play with it just now, but I hope to give it a whirl early next year. While they addressed some of the issues I had in the original blog post, there are still a few things that I find syntactically awkward, however I will attempt to reserve judgement until I have actually tried using the language and the IDE to do something real.
