I'm loving the new layout of the software centre. It's very App store/google playish.
simply brilliant.

Well, my upgrade totally failed. Run the Update Manager, started the upgrade process. Downloaded 1900+ packages, but after 30 mins into installation, I got a pop-up msg telling me to restart the computer to finish installation. In the terminal window behind the pop-up, the last line read: "Process halted. Too many errors."
I thought to myself, that didn't look good. But I decided to go ahead and restart, hoping it will continue installation and fix whatever needs fixing.
HA!
Silly me. Booted back up, at the login screen, I see multiple X's, like where a missing image would be. Not good!
Logged in and the desktop had blank icons in the bar to the left, and X's at the top right. Mouse unresponsive.
So I guess I'm forced to reinstall this from scratch again. *sigh*
Not looking forward to that, as I wiped my HD clean last time, when I tried to create a partition for it.

I had a simialr problem a few weeks ago when I tried to upgrade from 11.10 to their 'beta', and it crashed completely. The only install cd I had around was my 10.04, so I went about upgrading to 10.10, then 11.04, then 11.10. Yesterday I completed the upgrade to 12.04 and I've not had any problems except to reinstall gnome-shell ( I don't heart Unity) and ia32-libs:i386 to make some of my i386 apps work in 64 bit.

why are they forcing you to use the unity bar on the left? i need it to be at the bottom. they are trying to hide the fact that they copied windows

That can be fixed, following the instructions here:

Personally, I'm still using Gnome2 for my Interface.
