Default Which ISP?

Hey.
hehe.
Well, Leme put it straight out.
I need a ISP dat gime good pingtimes below 200ms and tings, and broadband.

Right now i have ADSL right... but my problem is ""IT DOESN'T WORK HALF THE TIME"".. It would start to load a webpage then juss stop, I can't connect to anything eles but MSN which takes 5mins to connect.
When it does work good i run fast. download at 41.2kb/s.. pings at 100ms....
But my main problem is the slow down times and down times. which is ALOT!............... trust me....

I dunno if any of you kno whats the problem but infochan sure as hell don't know. they came my house TWICE and didn't know wut wrong.
and said a few other ppl has teh same problem.

Please reply I am in pain to get a nice broadband going...... ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh h, :'(

Have you considered C&W's ADSL? I haven't really heard many complaints (if any) of their ADSL service. I'm also suggesting C&W because if you have Infochannel's ADSL then you should be able to get C&W's ADSL with ease.

btw - don't be turned off from ADSL just because the first ADSL provider you tried didn't work out. The technology is pretty much OK, but just like other broadband technologies, the service also depends on the ISP

Nikoli - welcome to the club of "I need good broadband" ;D

CWJ is the most reliable todate and I figure will continue to be for sometime yet...

I am not sure if this is a CWJ issue but I noticed (at a client) that over the past couple days their service has not been up consistently - modems kept losing sync every so often .... agian I am not sure if that was a location/line issue or a CWJ network issue... but when the modem is in sync then all is good but lasted only for aprox 1/2 hr each time...

I'm also not too sure on what to tell CWJ if i want to switch too them from infochan..

Also i always get line sync but the adsl just doesn't work at all at times. or super dupa slow.... slower dan dial up....

i'm in north pembroke area.

i've also just noticed JammTec switch there packages up. no more 3mb charge and crap.

Nikoli, what brand modem do you have...something tells me it's an Efficient Speedstream 5600 series router, would I be correct?

I don't think C&W will ask you anything, after all you're giving them business. Infochannel on the other hand may ask why you're leaving them and so you'll just have to tell them why.

You're correct about Jammtec changing up their package plan removing the bandwidth caps. Good move on their part!

CKnight

I have Alcatel Speed Touch Pro
Yes it's a router. 4 port hub

Why is there somthing wrong with the modems and the service?

Chris i was wondering like how my line has adsl alrdy. couldn't i just try to get CWJ DNS #'s and a adsl account from them and it should work?
I don't want to cancel infochan an den infochan go tek off the service off my line, would they do that? den mi haffi go wait anoda long 4weeks for cwj to activate it back... i not sure how it go. :'(
:'( so much stress and tings just to get a nice broadband going ehh...

Nikoli, I'm not exactly sure about the logistics behind switching. I think C&W would be the best people to answer that and also give you an idea of a waiting period (if any).

You're right about the stress and tings just to get nice broadband. At least your exchange is ADSL ready, I'm sentenced to many months of hard labour with dial-up

K Thanks.

:'( poor all of us...

I'm going to wait and see wut CKnight has to say. maybe is a problem with the router, i dunno...

my line can only handle 256k they said right.... thats also anotehr reason i want to switch
1. slow down times!!
2. down times!!
3. only can get 256k on my line.... which is 32kb/s. but i get 40kb/s somtimes.

i need somthing faster like a 512k with good pingtimes. dats why i asking so much about wirless . dat and cable is probably the only i can get over 256k..
but i'll check into the cwj adsl and ting.... thnks.
