Flow already offers superior speeds, and yet it has been steadily LOSING customers. Tripling current speeds, while maintaining the same package offerings, will hardly alter the status quo.
Presently, using Digicel, I can download a 100mb file in 1 minute on average, and about 20secs on a good day. Those speeds, given pricing, are more than sufficient for my needs.
Seems to me that price sensitivity is the dominant determinant, and here Digicel comes up trumps: Their smorgasbord of offerings is tailored to suit the market. With a little creative imagination it's very easy to build a nice package at a very affordable price.
Until Flow is able to shake its traditionally elitist tendency - a seeming compunction to demand top dollar for the slightest incremental technological improvement - it will always be second-best. Unless, perhaps, its ultimate aim is to abandon the retail market
