    I guess you realize by now the general theme of the advice you are getting is jack of all trades master of none. Based on my knowledge of the Jamaican IT industry Cisco is like a girl with a tongue ring its nice to have but the novelty and usefulness wears off pretty fast.

    Biggest con with Open Source - pray you do not need support and have to resort to forums to solve a prolem.

    Most major open source projects offer paid support. Did you try that option?

    I have seen this option with Samba, Postfix, Smoothwall, Pfsense and others.
