Talking Iphone 4 - Alive in Ja "Unlocked"

Finally i received my GEVEY sim unlocker for the iphone 4 and i can assure you that it works in JA.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QgTRXs4_u9c

Having been a blackberry user for years i really wanted to feel out the iphone thing and see what the craze is all about and i must say its a darn good phone.

It sits in a category on its own and cannot be compared.

I am hoping that a cheaper data plan comes out very soon so that i can part with RIM.

The software unlock is not out as yet and i was a bit skeptical in trying out this sim unlocker thing but i realized that the process to "activate" it was not so technical and once you get the hang of it and have to do it again it's like 15sec total. After all it beats the boot up time of any Blackberry.

If you happen to have an iphone 4 and want to use it but it is locked! Go for the gevey sim unlocker.

Kinda spooky,.. Can bet Apple soon release an update and kill this but they should make a few million from selling these.

Then some fake ones will flood the place

Not necessarily, there plenty of countries out there where apple has to sell their iphone 4 unlocked str8t from the factory, so i wouldn't see them doing that unless its market specific.
If "More" is really always "Less", then why am i constantly losing money?

Right, so they would want people to buy those phones at full price vs buying it on contract much cheaper then unlocking it and using the Gevey sim unlocker

Ideally, yes, even though that could still be a difficult position for apple to dictate, they can't control every aspect of every market.

No. I think the Gevey SIM works by supplying the phone with an IMSI+Ki so it's like that of a genuine SIM card so it will "always" work. Blocking this, would be like blocking all genuine SIM cards.

I agree completely. Adding to this I see a couple of sites in Jamaica offering to factory unlock iPhone 4's via IMEI unlock codes for about $170 US can anyone vouch for this sort of service as I am sure some scammers are at work here.

We know this already, so you don't need to re-state the obvious.

Who did you buy the Gevey SIM from?

How do I activate FaceTime on my WiFi?
It keeps saying: Waiting for activation.
