    Default AT&T or T-Mobile 9700/9780 for Digicel/Claro

gonna score a new BB when I'm in farin next month to replace my 8310 on Digicel

Assuming the Digicel/Claro acquisition goes through and that Digicel finally gets 3G, whose 3G frequencies match - AT&T or T-Mobile?

    thanx

Well please remember at&t is in the same position of Digicel and Claro to acquire tmobile shortly, So Tmobile will be no more. But we are sure its At&t bands we use here.

Let me answer you from a technical standpoint. T-mobile uses AWS (Advanced Wireless Services) spectrum which operates in the uncommon 1700Mhz spectrum band for their 3G services. This spectrum is only used in the US and Canada.

What do you think is the likelyhood of it being used in Jamaica by any carrier?

    Enough said.

I agree. I would recommend AT&T all the way. Trust me Digicel's EDGE is crap. I would suggest you use LIME as Claro is really Digicel anyways.
