I usually give advice like this to all my friends who would like to hear my perspective.. never thought of doing it professionally because there are many things that i have not experienced as yet to be giving others advice on it. the points i come up with are just things i discover from my experience.. it might not be the same for everyone but these are things i see happening.
i saw that there was a school in downtown for a sysadmin position and some out in mobay and even this 1 place who's name i never will forget (maggoty) but its all the same.. tonnes of schools all over jamaica looking for I.T. guys. not sure if i mentioned this but on the day of my interview there were only two other people applying for the job at the same time. alot of people didnt bother because of the location or the pay was too low for them (not sure what them expecting from a ministry-run institution)
in terms of volunteering.. the best place to start is at PC repairs.. its relatively easy to get into and it gives u the hardware foundation u may need to boost ur career.. i would have volunteered in sales, but it seems women dominate that area -_-
