hello fellow tjcans im in the process of writing a car rental application but the prob is im not good in Vb. is there any help out there. i dont want u to give me the code like that i want to learn. so if u can help reply or pm me ill see that much quicker.

Hi, have you programmed before? if you have have you done an annalysis of what the program will do?

add customer
update car details
keep track of how long a car is out for
assign cars to customers etc

i know a little c & c++
but vb is new to me.

if you have the msdn library it would be an asset for you

Vb is very simple I give you two weeks to be its master but if you have a deadline give me the program to write we split it fifty fifty

Is there any particular reason why you are considering using VB?

i choose vb because of the interface it provides, seeing that i know little c/visual c++ and dont know how to invoke the interface, i selected vb and vb also can easily be linked to a database to store the records.

johno, few questions:

Are you developing this for a particular company? or just for fun? or are you planning on marketing the software afterwards?

If you plan to sell it, there is a great possibility that the users will want it to have an accounting module or 'tied' into their existing accounting package. Money is where its at and users will want to see accounting reports.

Later on you can think of tracking car repairs, etc

Also, What backend/database are you planning on using?

If I were you I would make it web-based.
