Default Opening up ports on Arris CM550 on FLOW

Does anyone have any idea how to go about completing this process? I want to be able to allow peers to connect to me through utorrent with TorrentLeech being the tracker. Any help would be appreciated. Also, do i need to go the static IP route? Im a residential customer and was advised that only Business customers are given static IPs. Do i need to go proxy?

umm he wasn't being negative. The CM 550 is not a ROUTER its a BRIDGE, therefore there are no ports or anything to configure on it. It just acts as a pass thru device from the flow network to yours. The IP address you get from the modem is a publicly addressable IP so it has fully unrestricted access (except for port 25) to the internet. When anyone pings your IP they're pinging your device, not the modem.

Ok...thanx much for this information. Why is there then a problem with me allowing uploads? is it that theyre trying to connect through Port 25? My point is, i can dload at great speeds, but uploads through this tracker are very limited..speeds are at most 9.0 kb/s, which will get me nowehere in trying to keep a good ratio of dload to upload.

BTW: as is very obvious, i dont have very much experience or expertise on these things, i just did some googling in an effort to resolve my issue, then i thought of techjamaica being that as far as i can remember, its a good tool for stuff like this.

torrentleech has on site guides on how to get good speeds while seeding so check that. My account got deleted for inactivity so i cant link you to it. Downloading stuff in demand (latest) movies even when you dont watch them works great for seeding.
Dude, Aren't the "good things that come to those who wait" just the leftovers from the people who got them first.

This happened to me too. But your right, If he looks in the FAQ section he can get tips on how to achieve a good upload. However generally for Torrentleech unless it is the latest item ur uploads are going to be low most times.

The answer would depend on how the computer that's running bit torrent is connect to the internet.

Is the computer directly connect to the flow cable modem? If yes this behaviour would be quite odd.

Is the computer computer connected through an intermediary device such as a wireless router? Then port forward would most likely be the issue.

The quick test: Most apps have a test built in that will show green if the out going port is open. You might want to look for that and give it a go.

Same thing happened to mine. What I used to do was download parts of porn vids or the most popular files and seed em.
