Default Snapdragon 600 based Samsung Galaxy S4 is twice as fast as Galaxy S III and iPhone 5,

Yesterday we got some potentially bad news for Europe – that the Galaxy S4 version in sold in Sweden will use the Snapdragon 600 chipset instead of the Exynos 5 Octa that geeks were hoping for. The same version will be sold in North America. However, then we saw some reassuring benchmarks and now we can add one more.

And people say this was not much of an update, WOW and this is not even the 8 core version.

Thinking about it, the 8 core might not be much better. the big one is clocked 1.6 and the other 1.4 IIRC. Android isn't exactly multicore perfect so the higher clocks will help.

HTC fails by clocking that at 1.7ghz. The max speed is 1.9 but we'll see what this does for battery life. HTC must have had a reason. As usual this will be outdated shortly. Snapdragon 800 already out there. Just last year the snapdragon s4 pro was the best, when the nexus 4 came out. These people move too damn fast.

Yea sure htc has a reason for under performing with every phone release. By either using an outdated chip or using low clocks.

What does multicore perfect has to do with both phones running the same chipset?

What OS is multicore perfect by the way?

I fail to see the point of your post. LOL

The 8 core should be just as fast as it is a more efficient architecture.

Also HTC has a smaller battery....

The hate in your soul is real lol!

    Good job samsung!

HTC One is same chip, lower clock. The battery is also 300 mah below the international s4 so that might be a reason to clock it lower.

That comment was about the 8 core vs the quad core. Not the same SoC. It's not a new thing for a higher clocked processor with less cores to outperform a lower clocked processor with more cores.

It is more power efficient maybe. Because it would use the 4 slower cores on easier tasks. That doesn't make it faster than a higher clocked quad core.

one possible reason for the lower clock.

one possible reason for the lower clock.

Whose fault is it for htc using smaller battery?

I was talking about the higher clocked 4 cores that will obviously be used in a benchmark. They are A15 I believe and should be on par with the 1.9ghz snapdragon

Frequency is just a part of the equation when it comes to processors.

Hold up, this might be a stupid question but isn't the HTC One 1.5GHz?
