Why is Blackberry Messenger so Exclusive

Back when i first got into berries [About 2004/2005] many people would never consider buying/using a Berry... I remember when i first started to use BBM , i have like 3 contacts, and they were all overseas lol ... Skip FWD few years now that Blackberry has Exploded and everybody seems to have one.. I asked this question on my Facebook.. Check it out...

I mean we have big bad msn, yahoo & Google talk and our phones which we can use to talk to much more people across allot more phones, with BBM the only thing I really see they have above the rest is the bait up r and the d... what gives yo ????

What I'm getting at .. you have people with all messengers on phone, but only mainly use BBM ...

Personally, I cyaa tek to much talking. With msn, as i sign in 10 people start talk an a mad mi, so I sign out. BBM, u cant sign in or out of, but because of its exclusive nature, you probably have much less contacts who, because they have a berry, and can talk to you any time, know dem dont need to bomb rush you like the others do on msn etc. So you have those you talk to alot on bbm, ur significant other, close bredrins or ooman you may be lookin, you have those you talk to less and so on. But the biggest part of bbm is the little d and r. No one knows why yet, but those 2 little letters have become like mana from heaven lololololol.

I say all that to say, no one knows why bbm is the cats furry pusnip, but you wont know till you start using it. I used to cuss it, used to reason it out and use logics on it to try figure it out, and then my gf got me a berry, and I finally understood...not everything has an explanation, some things just are what they are and are just accepted.

I think most teens use it cause of the cool factor. Most people i know with blackberries only got it for bbm and fb. So coolness and it being easy to use and a sufficient amount of their friends have bbs so no great need to use msn and the insignificant others.

Well for me BBM is exclusive because you're on my contact list because I allow you to be plus I know once you're on BBM you're always online 24/7 so I can reach you anytime plus I can send you VOICE NOTES, pics not to mention Broadcast Messages.

It just happen that most of my friends use it so I just use it too.

with bbm u have unlimited characters to write. all other messenger are characters are limited you can transmit and entire book in BBM. and if i am offline and come back i get my bbm

Excellent point. Adding to this BBM is Global in that I can communicate real time with millions of other BBM users at a fixed cost plus BBM is secure and private to some extent

BBM doesn't drain my battery like Windows Live Msngr.
