I was in Mobay and got a call from a friend in Kingston about it. By the time it stopped at the gas station, the line was through the door.. everybody had exactly $120 in hand! The smart people used the free credit same time.. those who didn't... unnu lose out. Cause digicel catch up on it, and took it all away by this morning.

OK, so there was obviously a glitch with Digicel's credit recharge system. Everyone will agree on that. But what comes to my mind when I hear about this ... if they can have glitches when adding value, could there also be glitches when deducting value? Meaning, could there also be occasional glitches when calls are made resulting in pre-paid customers being overcharged for calls?

Hasn't this happened before? i mean digicel "giving away" free credit then taking it back. This would never happen on the other network.

@ Mitchie - Are you saying that money is even deducted from the accounts of those who actually won?

OKAY......assuming that you read the voucher when you're entering the number...the instructions are clear.... if not then:

    dial 120
    press send (or call)
    listen the announcement

    OR

    dial *120#
    press send (or call)
A message will appear on the screen with your balance!

DIGICEL used to give me free credit back in late last year and they didn't take it back. It kept going up by $20 every 20 mins for about a day and a half. Don't know why. They however started to charge both me and my girlfriend $10 per text. I called them and reported that I was being charged unfairly for text and they gave us both back the balance.....so we still get the extra money.

Happened to me several times when they overcharge me for texts and calls and I call them and get it back. One time they took everything just like that. After some vigilant and extensive waiting on customer care (which is always busy at those times i might add) i explained my case and it was returned. just don't sit and take it people. Call them about it cos is fi wi money a spend!!!
