they're not gonna waste money watching some drug dealer unless he's on their terror watchlist for narcoterrorism AND unless they figure he's someone who's actually involved in actual terrorist activity they're not gonna be watching him all the time.

err... i doubt they would launch new satellite regardless of who them tracking, they have quite a few up there already. The cost would be more to keep the said satellite focus on one location.

Could also be that the US want to show up JA government for there ways of handling crime

Extradited TO Jamaica? doubt it...goes back to the law/law enforcement in JA not being able to do much. I think they do partner up with Scotland yard and a few US agencies every now and then. But I think that's for operations in JA

err...who said they were launching any? that the running cost was prohibitive was already said. contribute something useful.

i think it's hilarious that the US Govt is running around looking for drug dealers when the US Govt through the CIA was responsible for the explosion of the crack epidemic in the 80s.

The US drug enforcement agency along with their firearms agency can more than afford and justify satellite time to view Jamaica and its waters. Agents are here physically on a regular basis doing surveillance as well. The internet is full of methods in which one can listen in on conversations and phone calls.
