This technology is possible, if satellite can views stars "light years" away, way can't it zoom in on Tivoli, people, read the same internet and step up on your tech info. Have you guys ever watch Enemy Of The State, with Will Smith, that Sh.....t is real. Don't under estimate technology. And guys you don't know about the CIA, it's not all about in movies.

While the technology may exist to do all this, how much does it really cost? Would the US really want to spend the money to move a satellite into position to monitor little Tivoli in little Jamaica, for a guy who has no where near the level of infamy as Bin Laddin?

    I dunno ...

not a matter of moving a satellite into position. They probably already could see the place and a good range of others. Now they are just paying attention

Surveillance Sat time aint free and they're not gonna park a satellite over Tivoli to watch a drug dealer unless he's into narcoterrorism like FARC and I'm sure he's not as big as FARC.

They can listen pretty easily. Never discount the NSA. They have some big complex in Maryland and who knows what they do over there or who asks them to eavesdrop.

You do realize that the only reason the US doing this is to catch one guy,

TIVOLI Gardens, the tough West Kingston base of Christopher 'Dudus' Coke, is under satellite surveillance by United States authorities who are determined to have Coke extradited to answer drug- and gun-running charges in New York, the Sunday Observer has learnt
Its not a continuous thing, JA couldn't afford that. This guy must be on the US terror watch or something to get that much attention.

Found this part of the article interesting

Two Mondays ago, in a scathing Narcotics Control Strategy Report, the Americans questioned Jamaica's commitment to law enforcement co-operation and charged that "Jamaica's processing of the extradition request has been subjected to unprecedented delays, unexplained disclosure of law enforcement information to the press, and unfounded allegations questioning the US' compliance with the Mutual Legal Assistance Treaty and Jamaican law".
"In an effort to overcome the impediment... the Jamaican Government indicated to the US authorities that if other evidence existed, the procurement and disclosure of which were not in violation of Jamaican law, the minister would be prepared to accept that evidence and issue the necessary authority to proceed. No such evidence has up to now been presented," he added.
I'm sorry but isn't this how they invaded Afghanistan? the gov didn't want to turn over **osama bin laden?
