Not to the best of my knowledge. But I wouldn't rule that out yet. It's interesting you should ask because the person telling us this information on Verizon's behalf is a Computer Security specialist (among many other things, including Ph.D. in Comp. Sci. etc. etc.). You have a very good question there, so I'll definitely pry some info and get back to you.

I would imagine that half the populous of the JaLUG people on this site will be tendering their resumés........right?
    Xeno,

Your info. is a timely reminder. JALUG has been offering training on Linux server technologies. Stuff like DNS, DHCP, mail servers, OpenLDAP, Linux routers, etc. These are the kinds of skills required to maintain Linux in an environment such as this one.

In fact, one of their technical people passed by our session on Linux routing last year. He was one of the guys from the LUG in his country.

People need to prepare themselves early since these opportunities arise with little warning. You can't really fudge around with Linux. Either you know it or you don't. An experienced person can tell the difference in minutes.

hmm i like what i see. recently people have been telling me that specialising in networking, security and linux, would leave me a very lonely person when it comes to jobs, because they dont exist. of course i told them that it wasnt true. this just goes to show that there are companies that hire people like me. so far i have my ccna and network+ and server+ linux+ soon to be added! hopefully i can fins a job when its time for me to graduate
