No innovation here at all. The only that really interests me about this device is its eBook capabilities and even that isn't solid yet because I don't think they have all the major publishers on-board i.e Barnes and Noble, etc. If they do get all the major publishers on-board, and at least figure how we can have the eBook software and music running at the same time then I am game. I would much prefer to carry this one device around.

So in the midst of all this Apple hype the last couple of days, I missed the launch of the Kindle DX and I must say if this is what the competition has to offer I am sticking with Apple for this ride.

BTW I just pulled this quick comparison from Engadget which I found interesting

dont forget that the kindle uses E Ink, reading a full book on an LCD screen puts a lot of stress on your eyes.

there isnt a single redeeming quality about the iPad

"Best web browsing experience ever....waay better than a laptop, waaaay better than a smartphone" - sure steve.....and then what happens when we try to go on youtube?

-No flash - this alone is sad

-No wireless connectivity - wi-fi alone? $130 more for 3G that cheapo netbooks have? not to mention the mini-sim card slot nobody uses.

no physical connectivity - no hdmi, no usb? not even a card slot?? i need to buy an accessory to get ONE usb slot??? what were these people thinking?

no webcam - another standard feature on cheap netbooks

-Uncomfortable for long use, how do you hold it?, sure there are accessories, but if you have to depend on an accessory to be comfortable, then you have a fundamental problem.

-price ... yes its an apple product, but really? $500 for an obese ipod touch is just too far.

    [/rant]

this thing is even more useless than the macbook air.

the more I read about it, the more disappointed I get.

    -no multi-tasking

just wow. Think i will be skipping a few generations. There are a few Android tablets coming out, hopefully they are much better.
