Call cingular tech support... they may need to add a feature to your account so you can dial up to your isp... or something

because with a few of the cellular providers in the states, you have to pay for gprs access... whereas when you csd (dialup to you own provider) is free... and a few people still use dial up service (believe it or not)
because its significantly cheaper than dsl/cable

Yeah, anyway i think u gotta get the gprs activated on ur phone by ur service povider, then u gotta install a gprs manager(motorola) software on ur laptop and hook up to phone to it via usb cable then the rest should be easy.

they dont even necessarily need the gprs manager... most people i know just use dial up networking... works just fine

Yep. Dialup WAP from my phone to my Anngel account is way cheaper than current GPRS rates. The data call is a flat rate per min and that's regardless of whatever amount of megs i download. Only problem is its much slower (9.6 - 28.8Kbps, depending on what ur phone supports).
