    Question FTP Server

    anybody know how to set up an ftp server? i tried to set it but couldn't reach my computer, when i ipconfig the only ip address i'm getting is 10.0.0.1, how do i redirect that to an ip address that i can use to connect to my machine? Modem Speed touch 510 v4

    ok man go get a proggy called no-ip u can get it at there site with that u'll find ur external ip .. oh mek sure u have bullet proof ftp though

    You have to configure your router's NAT to forward incoming external connections to ports 20 and 21 to the respective ports on your computer. Then, when you connect to your external IP address (go to www.whatismyip.com to find out) your router will forward the packets to your machine on your internal IP address (10.x.x.x). But you also have to make sure that you are not behind a NAT from your ISP as that NAT could be configured to block external connections.

    anybody know if c&w has it's NAT configured to block external connections???

    ok i've configured the ftp server using bulletproof, when users connect it stuck at entering passive mode....how do i configure that?

    u need to open up 3-4 ports man,people behind firewall wont be able to get on if on 1 port is open up eg. *50505,50506,50507* try doing that in the nat settings

    but ensure you state that in the ftp program as the range of ports.

    also, ensure passve is switched on in the options of the ftp proggy.
