Default Torchlight - single player RPG

A new RPG game that was just released about 2 weeks ago. Seems to be getting some good reviews. They planning an MMO version for next year. $19.95 for it, but you can try out the demo.
    KEY FEATURES

    * Randomization – Our level layouts are randomly created, so each adventure is unique. Monsters, treasures, puzzles, and items are also different each time you embark on an adventure.
    * Easy, approachable interface – Torchlight is designed to be easy to play right from the beginning. The intuitive interface gives players easy access to a rich and varied world.
    * Retirement System – Once characters are sufficiently leveled up, they can “retire” and bestow specific benefits and perks to new characters.
    * Pets – Players will choose a pet to accompany them. Pets can level up along with the player, and will help in battle, carry items, and perform a variety of helpful services.
    * Character Classes – Players will create and customize a character and choose an animal companion. Through cosmetic choices, skill path decisions, and the treasures they acquire, each character will be custom-tailored and different.
    * Fishing – Players can take a break from the high-energy pace of adventuring to visit one of the fishing holes and relax and see what they can catch. Fish have interesting benefits for the player and pet, and other rewards can also be discovered
    * Editor – Runic Games is embracing our modding community by providing an editor so our players can create and design their own content.

Trying to download the demo and getting a NSIS error:
Installer integrity check has failed. Common causes include
incomplete download and damaged media. Contact the
installer's author to obtain a new copy.

    More information at:

Seems a number of people are getting it too. And even after downloading the game, some are getting crashes and not able to connect to the server to activate, after dem pay.

Pff. Seems like dem need to work out dem problems. Will try this another time.

My yute, dis is not a flow thread or lime thread. Dis is Torchlight thread.

They uploaded a working copy of the demo now and I got to download and install. Di game can gwaan play. It have 4 levels of difficulty you can choose, from easy to Desperado (or something like that).

You do quests and mission from people in the town, kill mobs, (nuff mobs come at you), upgrade your weapons with stones (like elixir in SRO, but the stones are guaranteed to work) upgrade your skills, etc. etc.

You have a pet with you at all times and the dungeon is looong. I spent a good 45 mins going thru 1 dungeon and still neva done.

I might just spend di $20 to buy di game.

Nice one AA. I was actually gonna post about it a few days ago. It's actually made by the same people who created Diablo and some other games. And there's a definite Diablo/World of Warcraft similarity.

They are releasing their game editor so some really cool mods should be available for it. I think someone is working on making it multiplayer already.

Some of the useful features it has:

Your pet can carry items and you can actually load them up with things to sell and they run off to town and bring back your gold while you continue to adventure.

You have two stashes in town. One is your personal characters stash and the other is a shared stash over ALL your characters.

There's an NPC in town that gives unlimited random dungeon quests after you've finished all the regular levels.

It's a pretty good game and worth the $20 in my opinion. I look forward to the game editor which will add so much more to the game for free.

I ended up buying the game as well.

I went into the mines and slashed my way thru. Reach floor 7 till I got tired. Looks like this thing is never ending! I even forgot about my quests that I had. Went back to floor 1 to finish the first quest I got.

Sly is asking me to find the Overseer's notes or library or something like that. But I can't find it. Anyone else found it yet and which floor is it on?

I have a destroyer and using 3:2 ratio and putting it in strength and defence.
They need some help files on this game yow cause half the time I don't know what I doing.

If Sly is the guy who "helps" you in the dungeon and you reached level 7 you need to go back. I think its level 5. Its the level either with the waypoint or the level directly above it. Look at your minimap and make sure you've covered everywhere. When you get there you'll know. Without spoiling it too much, you'll have your first "boss" fight.
