    Your laptop is primarily used without the power adapter. On a regular basis, you have a digital camera, a Smartphone, a bus powered external hard drive, and a mouse connected to a bus powered Universal Serial Bus (USB) hub. You also use a PC card wireless network adapter. What negative effect will this configuration have on your system? Choose the best option(s) from those listed below.

    a) Not all of your devices will properly operate.
    b) Your battery will drain quicker than normal.
    c) You risk damaging your laptop.
    d) You risk damaging the devices.

    Seems this was a bit obvious:

    Using a number of bus powered peripherals with a laptop computer causes the battery power to deplete at a faster rate then normal. Bus powered devices, like USB and PC card peripherals, draw power from the system like an internal device and should be unplugged when not in use.

    Correct Option(s):

    b) Your battery will drain quicker than normal.

    Incorrect Option(s):

    a) Not all of your devices will properly operate. - This is a possible effect, but not a certain one. When a bus powered USB hub is used, it is possible that not all of the devices that are attached to it will be able to work at the same time. This is because the devices may be attempting to draw more power than the bus can provide.
    c) You risk damaging your laptop. - Plugging too many USB devices into a system is unlikely to damage the system.
    d) You risk damaging the devices. - Although it is possible that certain devices could be damaged under the right conditions, it is unlikely that a USB or any other hot-swappable device will be damaged in this way.
