    Default CompTIA A+ Depot Technician Quiz #22

    You are the computer technician for your company. One of the sales representatives will need to access files on the company network with his laptop, while at a customer's office. For security reasons, the customer will not allow the sales representative to access their company network. Your department's budget will only allow for the purchasing of minimal hardware. What would be the least expensive hardware that you could give the sales representative to allow him to access your company's network, while at the customer's office? Choose the best option(s) from those listed below.

    a) A properly configured wireless network card
    b) A flash drive with the required files
    c) A properly configured cellular data card
    d) A PDA or Smartphone with the required files

    And you would be right!

    A properly configured cellular data card can allow you to connect to the internet, and thus access your company's network. Each carrier requires that you sign up for the service and provide them with the data card's ID for access. Access is gained in a similar manner to a dial-up connection, but without the wires.

    Correct Option(s):

    c) A properly configured cellular data card

    Incorrect Option(s):

    a) A properly configured wireless network card - There is no guarantee that the sales representative will be able to access a wireless network from the customer's office.
    b) A flash drive with the required files - Depending on the customer, the sales representative may not know the specific files that he will need access to. As well, there may not be enough space on the flash drive for the needed files.
    d) A PDA or Smartphone with the required files - Although this option would give the sales representative access to the company network, it is also the most expensive option.

    Scratch B and D assuming there's no way to get the device. Scratch A since that would use the customers network (I think). That leaves C.
