She also told me once the item cost more than $25USD it attracts another cost so thats y the ps3 game was so expensive to clear.

I bought a digital camera from amazon and sent it to mailpac. THe camera cost $258USD that includes shipping. when it came to jamaica i had to pay a little over $9000 to clear it. click the image, then click fullsize to see it at the actual size

that's bullcrap about if things cost more than 25usd it attracts another cost...listen i bought an external hard drive costing $300USD and it cost nothing more than $1600 to clear using mailpac so i dont where they get that from.

some of the times customs looks at the invoice and says this item is too cheap, they do this especially with cell fones. so they give it a new price then charge you duties on that new price

@ Electro - Does that 4k include shipping to jamaica? Even if it doesn't, it seems like you guys paid way too much (>20%) to clear it.
Yeah the 4k includes the shipping to Jamaica. I know QM is cheaper. I'm a member there. We tried to go through a friend who has a newegg worthy CC and he is a member of Global. Next time we'll know we'll just use QM's and pay the 5% usage fee.

As such, I too bought a laptop charger on Amazon

    Laptop charger: $20.59 Usd
    Quicmail charges: $1000.84Jmd

QM to the rescue yet again! And it so expensive because they start charging a few to clear our stuff... which they never used to but it still works out cheaper and their shipping rates and yearly membership fee is cheapest I've seen. Mail pack is $30USd to QM's $1200Jmd

My PC died so I'm left with no other choice but to build a new box. I will post the details as soon as the parts arrive.

What you people seem to not get is this.

    Computer accesories = GCT

Anything else = GCT + Custom duties

Appliances costing over 500usd = GCT + Custom duties + (some other thing about customs)

So thats pretty much it. And thats why its only smart to import computer parts

I bought the following from newegg:
    1. Intel Core i5
    2. Asus P7P55D
    3. OCZ 700W PSU
    4. G.Skill 2x2Gig
    5. Linksys WPC100 wifi adapter

Total inclusive of shipping to Miami = $500.96
I shipped with Tara, the total cost to import and clear these items was $13,033.46. Tara's bill is one of the confusing so it's really hard to identify the reason for each charge. All that I can identify are:

    Cost to import: $1336.8
    Other Charges: $10,230.19

    One question:

Ordered a 360 game, shipped, got a call from quickmail saying they have the item, but I need to send the invoice so I can be billed.

Why is it they need to invoice to bill me? Isnt the item already cleared of customs duty, gct etc? First time they ask me for invoice (not sure if they were shipped with invoice or not). shipped many item from pin to an anchor, just wondering what so special about a 360 game

When I go pick up will post the billed price. Game costs: $84US
