For those who remember bout 2 years back(I think) Samsung made the same giant step with the Samsung B600, the first 10mpx phone with optical zoom. This is no new territory for them. Even further bout 2001-2003, when samsung made a 3mpx with optical zoom.
Also personally, if I could afford it I wouldn't get it, the image quality still isn't what I expect as yet. The pixels are there and noise level is low but how the colours and the image processing is done still has a lot of artifacts from what I've seen in the sample shots, just doesnt mesh together like a good digicam or a D-SLR.

like i said/ overated waste of time. sony and nokia makes the best camera phones
Not saying theirs are perfect, the samsung is better than most but expected with the work put in, the image quality would improve drastically, no matter what so far cam phones have either had colours being slightly washed out or oversaturated. Also I have seen no phone pic so far at the true resolution(no scaling) that details properly like a digicam, you can literally identify each pixel. Might as well just go for a smartphone with a 5mpx or 8mpx for now and get a digicam with the difference than to buy this feature phone unless you take the optical zoom very seriously.

I am digging this...but umm don't expect it to cost less than $600 USD (as someone hoped for).
If I got this...my camera/phone would both need to be sold.
