i use bitcomet now. Azureus was giving me slow speeds like u say. ppl might say open this port and that, but i can't go ask the network admin fi free up some ports. So i stick wid direct downloads or if is a big file (gigs) i use bitcomet.

you can set the ports you want to use from the bitcomet client, that way you can mask it under port 80, and away from unsupecting admins.

Kirby, the speed of a torrent varys depending on what ur downloading and who ur connected to or who connects to you. Google ur bittorrent client to find info on how to configure it properly. Its a possibility that peers on the bittorrent network cannot connect to u.

Ammm, that's incorrect... Suprnova wasn't busted, Sloncek took it down voluntarily. It’s the MPAA who are taking down torrent sites not RIAA and there are some that they can't touch .

The type of torrent that you are downloading DOES not affect the speed in any way. What determines how fast you can download a torrent is not determined by one or two factors. The main ones are: how many seeders and leachers there are to the file that you are downloading; the speed of your connection as well as theirs & your upload speed.

You won't be able to connect to peers on the network if the ports that they are using is blocked by your firewall and visa versa.

So is there a way to get around it?
