    To be able to use EFS the operating systems must be using the NTFS file system. NTFS allows for the use of EFS, individual folder compression, and provides better security through NTFS permissions to control access to files and folders. While both Windows operating systems are also compatible with FAT and FAT32, these will not allow you to use EFS.

    Correct Option(s):

    d) NTFS

    Incorrect Option(s):

    a) CDFS - This is the file system used for CDs. You do not have the option of formatting your hard drives with this file system.
    b) FAT32 - This is a file system used in all versions of Windows, but does not support the use of the Encrypting File System.
    c) FAT - This is a file system used in all versions of Windows, but does not support the use of the Encrypting File System.
