people hacking them tings is just that there isn't enough "hack power" due its price

    Semi, stop di bawling.

You could do something simliar on ps3 before certain firmware updates.

Even though that doesn't work with recent firmware, you can still run linux on the PS3 and use emulators in the linux instance.

So stop the bawling and go install linux on your PS3!

Nobody is going to hack the ps3 beause you can run lunix freely on the ps3. It makes no sense to hack a console that has a opensource os on it.

IF you want to run homebrew get a Wii. Well Nintendo is making it harder with the new wiis but so it go.

Actually even with the linux they are trying to find a way to access the RSX so a hack might still surface for that. Installing linux isnt for everybody and it cuts into your ps3s hard drive space, is separate from the game OS (so someone might even want a way to launch ps3 games from linux), and its not exactly a great performer.

Also there is rumour that the new ps3 wont be able to run linux . Add to that the rumour of B?C through firmware and there might be hope of exploiting that

Dude, it performs just fine for casual usage. Hard drive space is not an issue. Just get a 500Gb Laptop HD and you're cool. It's amazing that Sony hands you the tools to mod the system and get some extra benefits out of it, and you just throwing the things back at them. lol

Well losing features is the price to pay for "affordability" I guess.

How does that stop you from installing Linux on your current non-slim PS3?

It's not perfect, but why not get more out of your investment?
