    Angry Summer Overclocking Blues

Up Until recently my Phenom II 720BE was happily chugging along @ 3.540Ghz the multiplier set @ 15x and 236FSB. Temps were pretty good at 38c idle and 45c under load. Voltages also quiet mild with 1.4875 cpu, 1.2875 cpu/Nb, 1.26 HT everthing else stock. Ambient room temp hovered around 26 to 32c. Prime 95 8hrs stable. AOD stability test, super pi, 3d mark 06 &vantage all ok.

Along comes summer and a few bios updates and my Temps have gone crazy, idles at 48-49c and goes all the way up under load. Thing is my chip doesn't like temps above 55c after that it becomes unstable. I had it stable in Prime 95 for about hour and a half this morning but had to up the voltages: cpu @1.5125, cpu/NB @1.4 and NB to 1.36. That was between 7am and 8:50am then it crashed. At the time ambient was about 30c and now its 35-36c and it crashes in prime 95 within the first minute.

Problem is while playing most wanted or Devil May Cry 4 all is well but it crashes in prostreets after about 15min and Crysis well thats a crysis. I can do all the basic stuff like surfing an music just fine. My cooler is an arctic cooler 64 recently modded with a 120mm 1200-2200rpm fan.Full specs in my sig anyone having similar problems?

OK will try that, recently upped my bios to one which added a couple new features cpu unleash mode and stuff. It probably unleashing more heat than any thing else. Only hoping I can easily do that, from previous experience I know that bios update on asus Mobos can be pretty tricky to roll back.

Ehh, I dunno, but if at a certain temp, you become unstable, you weren't really stable to begin with. Especially at 55C.
