can you raid in this mmorpg? and is there a version of professions since your in space?

ahh bowy...big question...term raiding is a bit different for this game, unlike WoW where your limited to the amount of people you can bring on raids, this one, well it’s pretty much unlimited.

The difference with this now, is what u "raid". This game is heavy in PVP so you can group up with your Corporation (vs guilds) and go take on another corporation or even an alliance (group of corps). Taking them on involves attacking and destroying there station, taking over there territory, or just killing them for getting on the kill boards (rating system of your kills and loses).

The other is this new thing in the expansion released between dec and jan, where in a NPC faction is invading random systems and you have to push them back, there are different levels to the invasion, from small 5-10 ship encounters up to ones that require 100+. The ones that need 100+ are usually the hardest and is the one going after the mother ship, once the mother ship is down the invasion retreats.

Professions now, there are a few, some takes alot of patients and others are bloody entertaining!

Mining: straight forward you get a mining ship and go out to an asteroid belt and mine ore bring it back, sell the raw ore or refine it...profit

Manufacturing/Research: take the ore you mined or bought and make ships parts weapons ect. This game uses Blue prints which is exactly what it sound like, the blue prints can be researched to reduce material need and time to build the item...ship building however requires a few skills to learn to make the really big ships....either way get material for ships/parts sell on market or sell the blue prints you research ...profit

Pirating: ... yes good old fashion pirate, these guys are in the low security systems camping gates waiting for a kill. they can blow up your ship and when you eject into a pod they can hold you for ransom, and even if you pay they can still kill you. why should you care? Sometimes the implants in your character are more valuable than the ship.

If you really wanted to you can call running a corperation/alliance a job as well, politics and such

Don't forget they have Plexing which could be considered as raiding where you move from zone to zone starting from low level ships also known as rats and each zone you warp into ships either become more powerful or larger which is equal to power also, especially the Plexes that you have to scan space to locate usually have tougher rats thus better loot from the ships and better salvage materials.

Overall Wish Eve is DEEP I dear say its possibly the DEEPEST MMORPG out there met some vet who been playing for years and they still learning things due to so many module (parts) combination possibility you may have had a set up (build) working for you for the longest while one specific ship (lets say a Rifter) and no other "Rifter" has ever taken you down, just to be owned by a random "Rifter" one day and when you go to the killboards you realized that the setup on that "Rifter" is completely different from yours or any that you have even seen and you would have never thought of using a build like that.

I hath returneth, Eve has been sending me this 5 day invitation thing for a while now so I finally gave in and they had a special that if I came back by a certain time I could get 2 months for 19.96 so here I am.

wb...might not see me on alot...for one the new patch they applied rape my computer graphics card so its hard to open 2 eve at once and the other thing is that im training for stealth bombers now and that's going to take a while

You bought a second account? I finally got my machine sold (well for the most part). I running or more accurately attempting to run it on a Core 2 Duo with, 1gb of dual channel memory lets just say its an interesting experiencing, I stripped down all the settings and its now playable but I have to say I have no idea how people play Eve on low end machines or perhaps its a matter of they don't complain because they have no idea what they are missing.

hmm...been a while since ive posted on techja....yep im still playing with 3 accounts. over the past few months ive found a profession that makes me pay for the game with in game currency so ive been playing for "free" for about 3 months now on all 3 accounts...might switch it up now and go do some exploring.

FYI DUST 514 will be coming soon, that will link to console gamers to the game...should be pretty good.
