    Default dell 600m problem

    can anyone help me

    laptop died dunno what happen i know its old now i had it almost 5 year but right now isnt a good time for me to buy a new one.....goin back to school an all......the laptop jus died an when u put in the charger the charge light dips out someone told me i needed a mother board is that tru?

    Well its too late to do a BIOS update now (probably would have prevented the motherboard problem). Outkast, and Soapcreek have replacement boards for units like these.
    First of all, are you afraid of taking the unit apart? You can't make it any worse than it is now.

    You'll need to buy a IDE USB enclosure.

    had one o this, it ran very nice, til i shut it down normally one day, and it never came on back again. the end. I even put it in the sun hoping a ounce of live would revive, but it was not to be!,dell will make your cry and miserable and halla and bawl and hate laptops, and live in fear, with haunting memories of these mobile pc comfort toys

    Ahm, in the sun??? lol okay then

    @Nameless Nothing at all happens when you press the power button? If the LED on the Brick dims/ goes out when you plug it into the Notebook, there's still a slight change it might just be the Adapter that is bad and hopefully not the MoBo.
    That model Notebook you have is common (out here) and the same Adapters can work across the 500 and 600 series. You should be able to at least find someone with an Adapter you can test on yours to rule out the actual prob.

    I know the problem nameless have, and the solution is a $18000 mobo replacement (when ou can get another complete refurb one from amazon for 17k), I had one, my pastor had one(board replaced -was shipped back to us for servicing), and one of my girl-friend has one (still workin) ,damn refurbished dell crap,
