    Default IIS 6.0 ASP Errors

Does anyone know how to turn on detailed error pages in IIS6.0 on a Windows 2003 Server box?

Right now I only get a message saying HTTP1.1/500 Error.

I dont necessarily want to use my own error pages (at least not yet). Right now I just want it to give me descriptive error pages like IIS5 does by default.

    ok, i hear you...

    Try this:

Go to IE -> Tools -> Internet Options -> Advanced ->
--->>>and uncheck the "Show Friendly HTTP error messages" (assuming that its checked)

You should receive the detailed page you're looking for...

That doesnt work. The machine I regualry use for developement returns detailed errors when the app is running on IIS5, but only gives a general 1 liner when I run it in IIS6.

ok, let me do some research and get back to you...cause the only thing i can think of without looking at a server myself, is that the error page under the custom error tab isnt set to the IIS 6.0 default page...which i doubt is the case.

I cant find documentation to back up the suppositon that Microsoft has changed the 500 error page...so i'll get back to you on this one
