how good is QT3?

How good is QT3 for programming GUI apps, kinda tired a console apps and ive been download ing some C/C++ GUI tutorials. And one pointed out QT3, so im asking how good it it. And please if you can answer from personal experiences and not from a website. And post and other IDE thats newbie friendly.

And when i mean newbie, i mean first year newbie.

Areyou a newbie at GUI programming or are you a newbie at programming in general? Because if you a newbie at programming then GUIs is the last thing you should be worrying about. I have never used QT3 though.

im a newbie at programming, im gonna starts data structures and programming 1 next semester. I know that UI is the last but i would like to be ahead of the game. IF you know what i mean...
