I dont thing it is our position to release a major OS every two (2) years. There wouldn't be any business value if we took that direction.

i was thinking along those lines.. it's isn't fair to compare the Open source model to Microsoft's business model but note that even linux has LTS (long-term support) versions

by the use of the words "our" and "we" do mean that u work for MS

Window 7, Windows 8............Please Microsoft do not use numbers to differentiate the versions, we like words better.

You'd make an excellent lawyer and/or politician... I see MS now has a new naming convention for their OS. Windows 7 & 8... must say I Like it... So far Windows 7 is really solid, I can only imagine what 8 is going to be like....exciting times ahead for MS...

The word Vista has several meanings, another one would be - scenic view: a scenic or panoramic view. Anyway, we all have that behind us now. Lets all welcome Sir Windows 7 with open arms.

I am surprise that you didn't appreciate Windows NT. Personally I thought it was something good coming out of Microsoft camp..And what about Windows 2000? That was also a great choice. As we move with time, we forget our history. Furtmore, Windows NT was never positioned for the consumer market.
