i would definitely buy the new samsung i8910 its mad i saw the specs on the site.
I am in the market for one of these babies this year. I am sure some of you are too. Here is a list of some of the Touch Screens I am considering to get after my Nokia N82:
One that is seriously contending for my money is the recently released (and shipping since April) LG KM900 Arena. This is a wonderfully created device by LG. Been watching it since it was announced and it's been getting rave reviews and the new interface has all the eye candy goodness one could ask for and it actually works! The phone:
On top of it...it has all (most) of the features I crave sans Xenon flash(there goes my wonderful night shots). You can see GSM-Arena's preview here, and also play with the phone at it's Emulator page here:
http://arena.lgmobile.com/emulator/
Good stuff.
Another contendor is Samsung i8910 Omnia HD. Now, I am not really keen on Windows Mobile but take a closer look and you see Samsung is actually using Symbian S60 rel.5 (a familiar territory now thanks to N82). With the customization that Samsung is known for on devices not running it's TouchWiz OS this should be nice. This device once again nearly has it all once again minus Xenon. The HUGE OLED 3.7" screen cannot be missed and the 8MP camera! The phone:
GSM-Arena has done a first look. See here.
Third on my list is HTC's Touch Diamond2. On the heels of the highly popular Diamond series HTC is aiming to take the brand even further with this reincarnation. This is a Windows Mobile device but is HEAVILY customized by HTC. Their Touch Flow is wonderful, surely you've seen it. Has it all, sans...yep you know...Xenon. Still, a contendor. The phone:
What I can dig is this phone has handwriting capabilities which either means it is using a refined capacitive touch screen or it's using resistive like the Sony Ericsson IDOU (See below). You can catch a hands-on here.
My final choice is Sony Ericsson IDOU. Now Sony Ericsson is aiming at a showstopper with this monster 12MP device. You may wonder why it's last on my list being the huge SE fan I am. Well the phone is still in production and possibly won't be ready for months to come. Yet, Sony Ericsson has given me hope and something to dream about for the future albeit distant. The phone:
With a huge 3.5 screen I know this will be nice especially when SE customizes the Symbian OS (this will be it's first Symbian flavoured phone since ditching UIQ R.I.P. P1). It is also the only of the Touch Screens that caught my eye that TRUELY has it all...down to XENON flash! I mean with 12MP was anything less expected?
Details are still sketchy on this phone but trust me...any serious techie with a keen interest in power and sheer multimedia capabilities and TOUCH must definitely consider this.
Now that's my round up. Is anyone else looking to get their first Touch Screen this year? What are you considering?
P.S. Please be constructive in your posts. If a Touch Screen isn't on the horizon for you...please be minimal with your posting...and if you'd rather share PINs...then there is a new sub-section for that banter. THANKS!

Actually I am intrigued by the LG and it's OS. For a feature phone LG has done a lot to it. The IDOU is not ready yet and I bet it will come at a high price very high price initially. The other three will ship before it does.
Right now...I am yearning for the LG...need to look deeper into the other two as well.

I can't understand you Techno. What about the Xperia. Isn't that a beautiful touchscreen phone made by S.E. I thought you would have given that one a try. Or is it the price tag thats scary. It's a major scare for me![]()

i agree...while the idou is also a spectacular phone...the xperia would seem like a better choice...
Most meet death unprepared, armed only with ignorant familiarity. In other words, people die simply because it is inevitable.
Well Techno...I am gonna be biased here so go and get that HTC Diamond 2 as you're gonna get a strong brand, with tons of features for a relatively good price when compared to other touch screens in that Class.
N.B. I agree with Cultus re: you should have added the Sony Xperia as one of the top touch screens to purchase but I guess you're no longer a Sony Fanyboy.
